AFRICAN HERITAGE MONTH

The Festival Of Africa, *5-12 YRS

Students will be practicing in circuits while celebrating the African culture, learning drumming, dancing and African Art.

Viola Desmond Story, *5-12 YRS

Viola Irene Desmond was a Canadian Black Nova Scotian business woman who challenged racial segregation at a film theatre in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, in 1946. She became a leader of her community and demonstrated great bravery in times of segregation and racial injustice. This show tells this story brilliantly and in a manner that is both entertaining and educational.


BAM PUPPET MAKING WORKSHOP

(Suitable for instructional hours and after-school programs)

A 2.5-hour puppet making workshop and small play surrounding topics of inclusion, and bullying for grades 1-3. This workshop will allow your students to create their own props, scripts and become storytellers while working together as a team developing positive peer interaction. Along with artistic self-expression.

Maximum 30 students per session. 2 student volunteers needed.

Our characters teach their groovy friends how to care and stand up straight, stick to their hearts and why it feels good to share with others.

Feels Good To Be Kind, *0-4 YRS

Our characters adventure to the roller rink and learn about self confidence and the importance of not bullying.

Through this story Aunty B introduces children to healthy eating & going to the dentist.

Fun In The Sun, *0-4 YRS

Aunty B and Tommy go on a huge adventure to get to the beach where they explore safety and swimming.

Chocolate Swirl, *5-12 YRS

This journey takes you through Aunty B’s experience with abandonment due to the colour of her skin.

Aunty B Gets A New Family, *5-12 YRS

This show creates awareness around different types of families and what they may look like.
